My husband, Michael Sweeney from Crumlin, and I have been together for over 40 years. Although we were once teachers in Ireland, we have always travelled and spent time abroad. Since early retirement, we have been travelling and living here and there together. Online communication and access have been the miracle of the age, and we are blessed to have lived long enough to see it. Michael is almost 70 and I will turn 60 in April.

So we have undertaken to travel westward—“Around the World in 80 Days”—to celebrate my 60th year on this blue-green miracle whizzing around the sun. We are on Day 11 now, so only starting off really. We will get home (to Spain) on May 2, Day 80.
