Fair Usage Policy – Unlimited Plans
SIM Local’s Unlimited Plans are intended for reasonable personal travel use by individual customers. To help maintain network quality, performance, and fair access for all users, this Fair Usage Policy applies to all Unlimited Plans.
Personal Use Only
Unlimited Plans are provided for individual consumer use only and must not be:
- used for resale or commercial purposes;
- shared excessively with multiple users or devices;
- used in a manner that replaces a fixed-line broadband service; or
- used in any way that negatively impacts network performance or other customers’ experience.
High-Speed Data Allowance
Unlimited Plans include 10GB of high-speed data during each 24-hour period. Once the 10GB allowance has been used, speeds may be reduced to up to 256 kbps for the remainder of that 24-hour period. A new high-speed data allowance will refresh at the start of the next 24-hour cycle.
Network Management
To protect overall network stability and ensure fair access for all customers, SIM Local and its network partners may apply reasonable traffic management measures, including temporary speed reductions during periods of high network demand or where usage is unusually high.
Excessive or Abnormal Usage
SIM Local reserves the right to investigate or manage usage that:
- is significantly outside normal consumer usage patterns;
- adversely affects network performance;
- impacts other users; or
- suggests misuse of the Service.
Where reasonably appropriate, SIM Local may contact the customer before applying any restrictions.
Prohibited Use
Customers must not use Unlimited Plans for:
- unlawful or fraudulent activity;
- bulk machine-to-machine communications;
- continuous automated data usage;
- excessive tethering beyond occasional personal use; or
- activities that materially degrade network performance.
SIM Local’s Rights
Where this Fair Usage Policy is breached, SIM Local may take reasonable steps to protect the Service and other users, including:
- temporary speed restrictions;
- limiting access to certain services; or
- suspension or termination of the affected Plan.
Changes to this Policy
SIM Local may update this Fair Usage Policy from time to time where reasonably necessary for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
