TAKE OFF AT TERMINAL 5: SIM LOCAL LAUNCHES FIRST DEPARTURES STORE AT HEATHROW

Sim Local, the largest seller of SIM cards in the UK travel market, today opens a brand-new retail store at Heathrow, Terminal 5.

The new store is located after security, at T5B and will be the first time Sim Local will be able to connect with outbound passengers and help them to avoid roaming charges whilst abroad. Travellers can purchase local SIM cards offering great value mobile data plans from Three, Lycamobile, AT&T and T-Mobile, as well as a range of accessories from Panzer Glass and Skross.

Sim Local already operates four different stores at Heathrow, located in arrivals across Terminals 2, 3 and 5 as well as the Underground walkway, and has a network of SIM card vending machines in all terminals. As countries around the globe ease out of lockdowns, the modern world’s insatiable appetite for travel will return, and Sim Local’s expanded store network will allow them to build back stronger than before.

Andrew McClellan, Chief Operating Officer at Sim Local, comments: “We are thrilled to be launching a brand-new store at Heathrow Terminal 5, to cater to travellers who are flying internationally. This store is our fifth at Heathrow, cementing our strong retail presence here and paving the way for future expansion both domestically and abroad.”

Fraser Brown, Heathrow’s Retail and Property Director said: “As the UK’s front door, we are delighted to welcome long-standing partner Sim Local’s brand-new store into Terminal 5, as international travel recommences. Heathrow strives to provide the best passenger experience in the world and this opening will be a great addition for our outbound passengers, who will be able to stay connected to their loved ones at a lower cost whilst abroad.”
