How we calculated prices for 2025

With ski tickets, we looked at ticket prices at the start of the high season in 2025; mainly mid January (weekend). With Airbnb, we looked at January weekend prices and excluded outliers to tally up a (rough) average. With hotels, we looked at 5-10 of the top-rated hotels on Google Maps and estimated the average price for one night during a weekend in mid January.

Our research revealed that Brasov, Romania works out cheapest for both ski passes and accommodation but not by a lot. You will also have to take flight costs into account, and how long it takes to reach the ski town from the airport. Time is money.
